Our Story
Cameras from collector to collector.
There is no other name in the world of photography that stands for the right instinct for cameras, than that of Peter Coeln. For more than thirty years now he has dedicated himself to photography and photo technology. Be it a camera for the Daguerreotype process from 1839 or a Hasselblad Lunar Pilot, one of the few cameras which went to the moon and back, Coeln had them all and successfully brokered them to the right customers.
Read our mission statementOur Origin
A life where image-making is everything.
It all started with fast cars. The fastest to be precise. And a Asahi Pentax Spotmatic used by sixteen-year-old Coeln to take one of the last pictures of F1 driver Jochen Rindt before his death. It’s this photo which triggered a unique success story, beginning with a studio for ad photography going all the way to founding the world-famous Leica Shop as well as WestLicht Museum and OstLicht Gallery.
With Coeln Cameras customers worldwide can now profit from Coeln's instinct – true to the motto for which he has been known in international photography for decades.
